Hello Lovely CDA Sisters! Here are a few updates I want to share with you all:
On Thursday, July 15, 2021, we will go together to visit our recent Chaplain, Fr. Wade Bass, at the SMU Catholic Campus Center. We will gather at the Family Center parking lot around 12:20p and will carpool from there. If you have not already told Monica that you wish to go, please let me know and we will wait for you. If you wish to drive yourself, please park at the spaces by Burleson Park on University Blvd. Do not park anywhere on campus as you will be ticketed. We will meet with Fr. Wade at 1pm, have a tour of the center, then go for lunch with him to Goff’s burgers about a mile away.
Mark your calendars for Monday, July 26th, 2021 for a visit with our Seminarian Eugene Udemba, at St. Gabriel Church in McKinney. We will attend Mass at 12pm and have a tour of the new and beautiful church. We will have a late lunch in the area so have a hearty breakfast that morning! Please let me know if you plan to attend. We will meet at the Family Center parking lot at 11am on the 26th. The drive is about 35 minutes.
There is a nationwide Tyson food recall, and it is advised to throw away all chicken products from them—I have sent a separate email and here is a link for further information: Tyson Foods Inc. Here is some news from Monica Noyes: "The Spectacular Follies will perform at The Eisemann Center in Richardson, four days only, presenting "Return to the 50's". These performers are age 55 and older, sometimes even into their 80's and 90's, and they are fabulous! We would like to take interested members to the Friday, Sept. 17, 2:00 pm performance. We would carpool from St. Monica's. In order to get best price, we'd like to buy tickets early to receive discount and secure good seats. This reservation needs to be made next week. Anyone interested in attending please contact Monica (text or call) ASAP and get your ticket money to her. If we have 10 or more attending, the cost will be $19.80. If we have less than 10 attending, we will buy individual tickets for $22.00 or $29.00 each. You could invite your spouse if you like. Thanks. M."
Lastly,
Mary Immaculate Church (who now has Fr. Alphonse as
Pastor…lucky them!) has a Healing Service with Praise and Adoration on Wed. evening at 7:00 pm. Apparently this is very nice, soothing, forgiveness
and healing. Don’t we all need that?!?
I have brought the invitations to the church office today for our
court-sponsored luncheon which will be on July 29th from 12-1pm. The good news is that we can prepare food at home and bring it in. There will be an
email going out at the end of the week with more information and sign ups.
