The Immaculate Heart of Mary represents the pure, tender, and unwavering love of the Blessed Virgin Mary for God and for all humanity. It symbolizes her sinless purity, her maternal compassion, and her total fidelity to God’s will. Her heart is traditionally depicted as encircled with thorns, representing the sorrows she endured, and radiant with flames, expressing her burning love for Christ.

Devotion to the Immaculate Heart grew significantly through the teachings of saints—especially St. John Eudes in the 17th century—and became universal in the Church after Pope Pius XII consecrated the world to her Heart in 1942.
The devotion emphasizes:
Purity of heart
Deep interior life
Compassion and intercession
A call to conversion and holiness
It is closely linked to the apparitions at Fatima, where Mary revealed her Heart surrounded by thorns and requested acts of reparation, especially the First Saturday Devotion.
The Church celebrates the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on the Saturday following the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
💖 Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother most pure and tender, I place my life within your care. Teach me to love as you love — with patience in sorrow, with mercy in judgment, and with joy in service to God.
May your Heart, aflame with divine light, guide me through every shadow. Heal what is wounded, strengthen what is weary, and draw me ever closer to your Son, whose Sacred Heart burns beside yours.
O gentle Mother, keep my heart united with yours, until I rest in the peace of your embrace. Amen.
