Court St. Faustina Weekly News

September 21- 27, 2020 Hello

September 21- 27, 2020

Hello Dear CDA Sisters,

Along with my letter, here is what we have going on in our Court:

  • We had our first meeting of the year on the 9th in the small gym. We had 24 ladies attend! We were so happy to be back together. The new budget was passed and we will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month until further notice. We learned some lessons of what did and did not work and we hope to have a smoother meeting in October.
  • Welcome to our new member Susan Rehm!! She joined our court on her first visit!
  • Fr. Mark Garrett was installed as our Chaplain by District Deputy Anna Everage. He is very approachable and I would encourage everyone to get to know our new priest.
  • Tamales are coming.   Great for the cooler weather and the holidays.  Sales start December 3-5

Beef, chicken, pork, black bean and cheese. New low pricing!

Preorders welcome and encouraged.  Encourage your neighbors and friends!

  • We have been given permission to have our Tamale Sale. Pre-Sales are welcome. More information on the Tamale Sale and Bake Sale will be coming….stay tuned!
  • I had a delightful conversation last evening with our new sponsored Seminarian, Eugene Udemba! He is originally from Nigeria and has spent 12 years in a Religious Order in Belgium. Eugene studied at Liberty University in Virginia and his brother invited him to Dallas as Eugene wanted to become a priest for the Diocese of Dallas. Eugene is in his final year of Seminary at Notre Dame in New Orleans. He will come back to Dallas to do his pastoral year, be ordained a Transitional Deacon, then in 2023 will be ordained a Priest.

Eugene has had a tough time of it, losing his father at the age of 10, he and his brother were the only children. His mother resides in Nigeria. After Eugene had been in Dallas for only a few short months, his brother travelled back to Nigeria in 2018, he was kidnapped and murdered. Eugene has not seen his mother since that time. She is the only family he now has. I told him we would look after him the best we could. He would welcome prayers and cards/letters from us. He assured me of his prayers for our court!

Eugene is on fire for God and he said his “zeal is to become a priest to bring souls to God’! You may write to our new Seminarian here:  Eugene Udemba, Notre Dame Seminary, 2901 South Carrollton Ave., New Orleans, LA, 70118.

  • Please reach out to each other and if there is any need, reach out to any of the officers—we are here to serve You, our Sisters in Christ.

Take care and God Bless!
